In Christ...

I was reading the Bible today, soaking in the sunshine and the Word of God with a specific goal.  I am putting on a retreat for the ladies of our church and the idea for decorations included putting up leaves with different aspects of our identity "in Christ."  Here is what I got just from what he told his disciples in John 15:1-17:

In Christ...
•I am a branch in Him
•I am clean because of His Word
•I abide in Him and He in me
•I bear much fruit (apart from Him I can do nothing)
•His Word abides in me
•I abide in Him and His words in me.  Then I ask whatever I wish and it will be done for me
•I bear much fruit and prove to be His disciples
•I keep His commandments and abide in His love
•His joy is in me
•My joy is full
•I am His friend
•I am chosen
•I am appointed to go and bear abiding fruit
•I love others

What a list--just from 17 verses!  Praise God for Jesus Christ and that I am an "in Christ" person because of Jesus dying in my place and placing me...in Him.

Art lesson

Sometimes we don't seem to get to it, but when we do, art with the kids is sure fun!  Here they are learning and then applying their learning to a still life of flowers.

Maggie's Oak Tree Climb

We got Maggie at tree climbing class for her birthday.  Yesterday she got to climb in the big oak for 2 1/2 hours.  She loved it (of course)!

Room Addition

 We had to get rid of our vegetable beds in order to build a room addition for Grandpa to come stay with us.  Here we are starting the process...with Lily and Trey helping the builders.

Concrete truck...break from school to watch :)

The guys let the kids use the left-over concrete to make things...so cool!

 Our friend, Leonard, joined the crew...taking his vest and tool belt out of retirement.  What a blessing!

 We tested out the flooring one evening when the workers went home.  The kids liked the stage.
