Here's a glimpse into our day: the kids are playing together in the backyard, climbing trees, apparently Trey is a fisherman and is catching salmon for dinner (we are actually having salmon :), Maggie has all sorts of ideas for them. She has a well (bucket of water up in the tree), Lily is a traveler passing through.
Hanna helped Lily organize her room today, Lily drew a sketch of a horse for Hanna that she's going to paint for her big sister. Earlier, Hanna played marbles with Trey.
Trey's room is basically inaccessible as there is an enormous spiderweb made out of fishing line that spans from one wall to the other, and across the door! Trey decided to be Spiderman. Maggie helped print out a mask for him and I drew webs on red t-shirt with a big black spider on the chest. He hasn't change t-shirts ever since...day and night...even sleeps in it!
Lily sewed a doll for Trey that looks like a small, chocolate gingerbread man :) Today the doll is sporting jeans, also sewed by Lily for Trey. They keep working on more clothes for the doll.
Trey sat next to me as we both sketched and then painted a picture of him sleeping (from a photograph). We listed to a sermon from John MacArthur that I found in a drawer with old cassettes. This one was on "Making the Hard Decisions Easy" and my mother had written a note on it "Excellent for Guidelines." I told Trey, "This is a sermon where Mr. MacArthur is preaching."
Trey immediately lit up, "COOL! From the Bible?"
"Yes," I replied.
"Cool." Later on he asked if we could listen to another one :) Sweet moments. I've gotten lots of hugs from all 4. Just a glimpse into a slower week as we spend spring break together.
Now on a spiritual note: I've been learning about God's priorities being different for me than my priorities and remembering them. Jesus says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness" (Matt. 6:33). I want to bring Him glory, do the work He has for me each day, not my own agenda. Please God, help me discern that. If I got a tatoo right now, it would be on the top of my wrist reading, "To live is Christ." I want to remember that each and every moment I am doing something. He must become greater.

Spring Lake Outing
We had the opportunity to walk at Spring Lake, followed by a picnic and fun at the Environmental Discover Center.
What a beautiful March day!

While we picnicked, I notice a woman sketching us. She showed me her sketch--so terrific for so many of us wiggling around. I recognized her--it turned out that she had been in two painting classes I took ten years ago!
The rocks outside the Environmental Discover Center are fun to climb on!

Inside, we found a tide pool to explore.
Do you see the crab, fish, and sea stars?

Today...
...Trey woke up. "I feel sick," he stated, and went back to bed until 10! After some Advil he did perk up around 11, eat 6 pieces of toast with honey, 3 radishes, 1/2 a grapefruit, and a rolled up tortilla with butter and cinnamon sugar!
Maggie the other day when she felt misunderstood, "If you were in my feet, you'd understand!" She meant "in my shoes." So cute.
